Who We Are
The Interfaith Action Council and Nearly New Shop have been a force for good in the South Shore area for decades. Our store serves the community as a friendly and welcoming place to shop for bargains and a place to see friends and neighbors.
The Interfaith Social Action Council of Sun City Center strives to enhance and improve the lives of the persons and organizations within the South Shore community. The cooperation of six churches and one synagogue, the dedicated Nearly New Volunteers, our caring donors, and our faithful customers, has made funding possible for a wide variety of community programs and student scholarships.

Thank you!!
The Nearly New Shop, 1515A Sun City Center Plaza (Rear), has resumed shopping on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8 until noon. When people shop at the Nearly New Shop, they are helping generate proceeds that go towards grants and scholarships made through the Interfaith Social Action Council of Sun City Center. The Council has operated the thrift store with its wonderful volunteers for over 53+ years.
Proceeds are used to support local nonprofit programs such as food banks and emergency assistance programs at St. Vincent de Paul at Prince of Peace (SCC) and St. Anne (Ruskin), Our Lady’s Pantry, Tampa YMCA’s Veggie Van (Wimauma), Andy’s Kitchen, God’s Dogs, Center4Life, SCC Emergency Squad, SCC Security Patrol, SCC Samaritans, Wimauma Boys and Girls Club, and public-school curriculum resources for Summerfield and Collins Elementary Schools.
The Council also awards scholarships to dozens of seniors graduating from local high schools who are furthering their education at an accredited college, university or trade school.
